Definitely , Maybe ?

This movie , well , really? It's a good movie , abide it being a American romance/comedy film , it wasn't the kind of plots that you'd often see in our current age of directors spitting out mediocre scripts just to earn a quick buck.

Here's the plot (via Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitely,_Maybe )

"Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) is a 38-year-old father who is in the midst of a divorce. After her first sex-ed class, his 10 year old daughter Maya (Abigail Breslin) insists on hearing the story of how her parents met. Will gives in, but decides to change the names and some of the facts relating to the various love affairs of his youth, thereby creating a love mystery; Maya is left guessing which of the women will turn out to be her mother. The story he tells Maya is depicted in long flashbacks. From time to time the film switches back to the present, where Maya comments and asks questions.

The story begins in 1992, when Will, a starry-eyed aspiring politician, moves away from Wisconsin and his college sweetheart, Emily (Elizabeth Banks) to New York to work on the Clinton campaign. Over many years, Will becomes involved with several women who enter and re-enter his life including Summer Hartley (Rachel Weisz) who is an aspiring journalist and April (Isla Fisher) who is the copy girl for the campaign. Will and April have a chance meeting outside work, where Will reveals he is going to propose to Emily. When Will practices a proposal to Emily on April, she is taken aback by Will's words, and replies, "Definitely, maybe." They go back to her apartment, where April has multiple copies of Jane Eyre in her collection, explaining that her father gave her a copy with an inscription in the front shortly before he died, and the book was later lost. She has spent years buying copies of Jane Eyre from secondhand stores, hoping to find the copy her father gave her.

Emily comes back to New York where she confesses, just after Will proposes that she slept with his room mate. She did this on purpose to break up with Will saying that she is "letting him go".

Will first meets Summer Hartley when he gives her a diary she wrote when she was a teenager from Emily. He finds that she is going out with a famous writer who is old enough to be her father. However, the writer breaks up with Summer and Will starts a relationship with Summer. Meanwhile April quits her job and goes to travel around the world. Will plans to propose to Summer when April comes back to tell him she loves him. However, she realises that Will is going to propose to Summer and does not tell him. Summer writes an article about Will's client which ends their relationship. Will loses his jobs and fights with his work colleages and his dream goes down the drain.

April calls after a long while and finds that Will is unemployed and unhappy. She throws a birthday party for him where he is reunited with his old work colleagues. In a drunken rant, Will confesses romantic feelings to April, but in the process ends up having a fight with her, telling her to "go to life-rehab". Some time after the fight, while walking the streets of New York, Will finds the copy of Jane Eyre that April's father gave her. He goes to give it to her, but decides against it when he meets her boyfriend Kevin, with whom she is living.

Emily re-enters Will's life and turns out to be Maya's mother and Will's ex-wife, as Maya correctly guesses. Will explains to Maya that the happy ending had been Maya all along and they share a hug and part ways as Maya leaves with her mother. At home, Will finds the book he has been saving for April, and goes to her office. After learning that she is now single again, he gives her the book, but when she finds out that he was holding on to it rather than giving it to her immediately, she becomes angry and asks him to leave.

Maya is happy that she figured out the story, but also realizes that her father still loves April, as even though Will changed the names of Emily (Sarah in real life), and Summer (Natasha in real life), he did not change April's name. Encouraged by Maya, they go to her apartment where Will confesses to April that he held on to the copy of Jane Eyre because it was the only thing he had left of her. As the three enter into April's building, April springs into Will's arms and kisses him."

So in many ways , this was a man who had hopes and dreams of being the President of the United States . Good aspirations , I suppose . To be someone who stands up for not only himself but a institution , a country . In the end tho , what he stood for comes crumbling down . With the Clinton issue and his running candidate , caught up in a scandal.

Moving on , New York does many things to a man . Especially so when he's love of his life is miles and miles a way (I'm a firm believer that long distance relationships work but I haven't been in one , so I can't say much) So he slips , he kisses a girl he barely knows .

Thru the story as you can see by the plot he ends up with "April" so this epic love story , somehow has an ending but it ended prematurely , one of the ways that American films tend to avoid , as Americans like a straightforward ending , no thinking needed to know what happened , which I'm on the plank on which side I like more , depends on the story I suppose :)

Heh , so I can relate but I haven't been on the journey just yet , just starting my story. Let's see how I end up , hopefully I learn along the way too , just like Will here.

Leaving.

I guess I've always had a complex with people leaving me or ignoring me . It probably came from my younger days , with moving around and all . Mom's never helped either , with how she is. I feel it happening it again and again , sad eh? The thing is , this is coming from the people I thought knew that I'd do anything for them , minus shedding a limb or two. I was there for these people and they just brushed me off when they were happier . Thing is , I care too much . I listen to their problems , I access , conclude and try my best to help or just simply be there.

Sometimes letting something off your chest to someone that isn't involved at all , helps . Yes it does , even I've done it before and let me tell you , it's the best feeling in the world ; letting everything out and that person not judging you.

Maybe I should stop caring about people , or maybe befriend people who actually appreciate me (in good times and bad times) or maybe I should just drop off the face of the earth , go off the map . Just so they realise that they miss me.

What Matters The Most.

Sometimes heartbreak has to happen to teach a man , what is important in life at a certain time and now after losing my first love , I've learnt that love will come and go at odd times and sometimes it'll surprise you like it did me this year but for all its worth I don't regret it cause it was what I wanted at that time . I've moved on tho sometimes I feel lonely but yeah don't love cause you're lonely , love cause you really do love that someone.All that matters is ;

My family
My true friends
My future
My physical well being
My emotional well being.

Yes all those above matter , and right now my emotional well being is fine being single . I've just got to prepare myself for the real world , the world that's looming after high school . After this superficial life that we've been living for 5 years . No longer will "clique's" exist , well not in the way it was in high school anyway. Its time to grow up and be matured , with that playful child still in mind :) not to worry .

So now , it's about SPM , I'll have to put aside my social life and sit down alone and study . After that we can talk about Mixed Martial Arts , learning Mandarin and Yoga classes . Just concentrate for 2 months + and we'll be done with it. You can do this , yes I can.

Aware

May we abandon all those who choose to hate us and stay close to those who care for us.
Even when sometimes you have you let go your ego and just let go.

Chance

Won't you give me a chance
to show you that I can
be that man
that man that can make it right.

I told you unconventionally
so make me understand
why we can't be ideal
nothing more so real.

I bailed once
you did too
i just need one chance
to show you that we can.

We'll compliment
no , we won't depend
on what they say
or what we hear.

Yes we can dear
so don't fear
or tear
no more.

You and I
lets make it
make it
an adventure.

The above is not for my ex but for my next.

Joke of the Day.

A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night and have dinner with her parents. Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time.

Well, the boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. The pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex.

At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he’d like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.

That night, the boy shows up at the girl’s parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. “Oh, I’m so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!”

The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl’s parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head.

A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down.

10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy.

Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, “I had no idea you were this religious.”

The boy turns, and whispers back, “I had no idea your father was a pharmacist.”

Solace

"I'm gonna stop this guy, win, lose... it makes no difference, it ends tonight. This is my fight. Everyone's got one..."

- Jake Tyler -

Some fight for fun , others as a lively hood , some fight to release anger & find comfort , a selected few do so for their families , and you might be surprised but some fight to find solace. Taekwondo , did that for me once upon a time ago & it gave me discipline , strength , & a healthy sweat once a week . After SPM , i'm joining the boys at kick boxing to once again find solace, comfort and release anger. Hope they guide me well once I get there.

Moose: (from trailer) People dance because dance can change things. One move, can bring people together. One move, can make you believe like there's something more. One move, can set a whole generation free.

I myself have always been easily influenced by non-harmful or non-sinful hobbies , such as surfing, playing the guitar, playing badminton , and ever since the first Step Up 1 , I always wanted to dance. You may be thinking i'm just another one of those posers but I'm being truthful . I always wanted to bust a move on the dance floor but my lack of self esteem never helped.

Music gives a voice and platform for people to express themselves . Whether it may be by singing, playing music or dance to it. Whatever it might be , express yourself through good means :)
